Studio46 and Hudsun Media
Studio46 Media recently had the opportunity to work with Hudsun Media to serve as on-site production for a recent episode of Facebook Watch’s Returning the Favor: At Home hosted by author, podcast host, and television personality Mike Rowe. Following several conversations where the team at Studio46 Media expressed their passion for the show and the subject of this episode, along with being located in Kentucky, the producers at Hudsun Media elected to work with the Studio46 Video Production team to capture the footage used in the piece.
Veteran Stories
The episode, which debuts on the platform on May 26th, focuses on the story of veteran and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Chaplain, Darren Atkins. While continuing to maintain his full-time job, Atkins has spent his free time volunteering to provide meals for his fellow veterans at the VFW Post 5829. In order to thank him for his dedication and service, Mike Rowe and the community of Whitesburg, KY honored Darren Atkins on Friday, May 22nd, 2020 with events that were chronicled on the episode.
Good thoughts in bad times
Studio46 Media Director of Photography, James Ochsenbein said, “it was great to be part of something uplifting during this time of COVID-19, especially when it involved honoring a veteran over Memorial Day Weekend.” Ochsenbein continued, “it showcased that even in the smallest communities throughout the Commonwealth, you can still make a big impact.” Studio46 Media’s On-Site Coordinating Producer, Charles Thompson, added, “Eastern Kentucky has so many wonderful stories to tell, and it’s tremendous to see a show like Returning the Favor make Letcher County its focus for this episode. Seeing Darren’s response was truly touching to say the least.”
