The Board of Directors of Step by Step has named, Bryan Dowell, Director of Studio46 Media, the newest Board Member of the organization. The non-profit organization has not had a male serve on the board in over 25 years. “I am delighted to participate on the Board and share the energy, passion, and excitement that Tanya, her staff, and all the volunteers have for the community” said Dowell. “This organization is one who truly lives up to their mission and it is inspiring to watch the generosity they have for young mothers and their children” added Dowell.
Step by Step is a local non-profit organization in Lexington, KY with a mission to empower and embolden young single mothers to improve their lives, their families, and their communities through healing, encouragement, faith and education.
Most recently, Step by Step raised funds to assist young moms in paying their bills and keeping food on the table for their families. Studio46 Media, a video production and live event service company, was able to assist the organization with the production of their virtual “Step into Beautiful” fundraising event after COVID-19 led to them being unable to host it in person. This is the organization’s largest yearly fundraiser, and although they had to host it virtually, they were able to raise enough money to launch their first ever emergency fund relief program which has been a blessing over the past few months.
In response to COVID-19, Step by Step Staff and Volunteers have been delivering basic need items to young moms and their children. They’ve also put together activity bags for the kids to play with while they’re not in school. Despite the recent pandemic our community is facing, the mission of the non-profit organization remains the same and they are ready to welcome young moms with open arms.
Step by Step offers many programs that promise to give mothers the skills and confidence they may need to open the door to a promising future for them and their families.
