The Studio46 team located in Lexington, KY recently had the opportunity to work with the founder of Horse Kicks, Marcus Floyd, and local artist, Aaron Akidil, to present a one-of-a-kind design pair of sneakers for horses. This specific design is in honor of the 150th Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Derby is the longest continually held sporting event in America, and it is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world. The Kentucky Derby occurs once a year at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. The Kentucky Derby is known as “The greatest two minutes in sports” being a highly popular event.
Marcus Floyd is the founder and creator of Horse Kicks. Horse Kicks is the world’s first sneaker retailer for horses. Based out of Lexington KY, the horse capital of the world, Horse Kicks was founded to offer horses of all breeds and disciplines the drip they deserve. Floyd studied the art of shoe “decon/recon” at the ShoeSurgeons SRGN Academy. Floyd builds these sneakers on a pre-made protective boot designed for horses.
