THE CLIENT

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass is a non-profit organization focused on creating and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children, and to strengthen families by keeping them together in times of medical need.

THE OBJECTIVE

Design and execute a memorable event to support the Ronald McDonald House’s mission while engaging and entertaining over 300 attendees. The event occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting a unique challenge for our team and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass as they hosted one of their most significant fundraising events of the year, McDazzle.

THE SOLUTION

Studio46 worked alongside Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass to create an event that would meet the COVID-19 guidelines present at the time of the event, while maintaining the environment and experience guests expect when attending their annual McDazzle event.

To achieve this, both teams collaborated with the team at Keeneland, the renowned horse racing track in Lexington, KY, to plan a memorable and safe event at the beautiful Keene Barn. The choice of venue provided an elegant setting for an indoor dining experience, along with an outdoor area for the post-dinner reception.

A fantastic venue does not guarantee a successful event on its own; it’s the small details and execution that make all the difference. Studio46 started by creating a detailed run of show for the staff and events crew to guide them through each moment of the setup and event – ensuring alignment from everyone as they worked towards hosting a memorable night. Additionally, they strategically placed the live auction portion of the evening to occur after networking and dinner, ensuring they had the attention of everyone in attendance for this important section of the evening.

To create an excellent atmosphere for the event, Studio46 created a unique, “in-the-round” stage design for the dinner to ensure ideal sightlines for the presentation and entertainment. A choice that also increased the excitement of the live auction and promoted more competitive bidding on the items available to raise more money.  

Thanks to a great evening of programming, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass raised more during this McDazzle event than ever before.
